Telematics box, as the so-called t-box, vehicle black box or smart box, is being widely used in fields such as insurance, periodic tenancy, fleet management, driver behavior management, vehicle tracking, and stolen vehicle recovery (SVR). The tbox makes a very important role in the whole telematics system.


In-house designed, developed and manufactured by Hopechart, one of the telematics device suppliers/ manufacturers , the t-box HQT401 comes with GPS and GNSS positioning module, 4G LTE module, Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth, internal battery, CAN Bus and RS232 ports. As the tbox HQT401 adopts design of vehicular gauge, it can stand extreme working environment and conditions. The tbox can realize vehicle remote tracking and monitoring, vehicle control, security detection and warning, vehicle remote diagnostics and breakdown call. Like our other tbox or tachograph products, the HQT401 can be also work together with the double Din Android multimedia screen.


II.Scope of application of Vehicle Tbox 4G LTE:


Vehicle location monitoring, vehicle status monitoring, vehicle control, firmware upgrade, B-CALL, CAN Bus tachograph, remote diagnostics, driving behavior analysis, hotspot share, wireless communication, information encryption, vehicle anti-theft.


III.Summary of Vehicle Tbox 4G LTE


The Tbox 4G LTE, vehicle telematics device,  can be installed under the dashboard, under the seat of driver and in the trunk. It can be fixed with screws, Velcro or by customized method. Adaptively powered by vehicle power 12V or 24V, it can interact with vehicle via CAN interface.

Tbox has been integrated with MCU, data storage module, GNSS module, wireless communication module, and CAN transceiver module. Meanwhile, the preserved interfaces support extension of external devices, such as infotainment screen, and all kinds of sensors.

  • Who Pays To Fit A Telematics Box?

  • What Will Happen If I Speed?

    Telematics devices assess how you drive and look for trends in your driving style. Occasionally breaking the speed limit by a small amount shouldn’t affect your policy. Persistent speeding is likely to result in your insurance premium rising.

    Dangerous speeds are treated much more seriously. In extreme cases where there’s a persistent pattern of excessive speeding, some insurers would consider canceling your policy.

    Depending on the insurer, you may get several warnings to improve your driving before this happens. Remember, telematics policies are aimed at safe drivers!
  • Can A Black Box Be Turned Off?

    No. The t box is sealed, and tamper-proof.

    Switching the box off does rather defeat the object of having telematics system installed. The whole point is that the insurer gets a better portrait of your driving ability. And, if you’re a good driver, you’re rewarded.

    If your insurer is not able to get all of your driving data, then they can’t paint a complete picture of you as a driver.
